Agreed....indirectly tks to Bro MV, i got myself the warranty and abt 1 weeks therefter, my fuel pump chut problem and as per the coverage, I got my fuel pump changed by MG (1 of the authorised workshop) FOC. I understand fuel pump replacement would easily set me back by $5-600. As it is, I've almost 'çlaimed' back wat i've paid for my 2 yrs warranty ($750) with TWM !! And yup, steering rack is covered !! |
Some commission pls.. |
my ride fr MM, can buy the warranty? |

just my 2 cents worth!
i would advise you guys not to..im on the so-called warranty now..had this steering rack problem and went to their so-called HQ at sin ming as i was doing my servicing at their Srgn North branch and they referred me there claiming they dun have the equipment to diagnose the problem(there are 2 FOC servicing when u sign onto the package)..
what happened after dat reli made me boil, left my car in the morning and they called me in the evening to say its done, when i collected the car they told me its a tie-rod spoil need to pay $130 to change, ok lor i paid first before collecting the car..after driving it out,the problem persisted!
den i insisted that they took out the tie rod since it is not the tie-rod problem..then they said must put the car there overnight for 2-3 days as they need time to diagnose the problem..when they called me to go collect at the end of the day again, i asked them wat they do to my car? they said that they took out the steering rack and changed some parts inside it as it is cheaper and the company doesnt allow them to replace the whole rack as it is considered to be still working..fine...when i drove out, the freaking alignment was out.i had to drive it back the next day to re-align the steering wheel and they told me must pay to do alignment...i screwed them up and said its your side who did a shoddy repair job and passed the car back to me before a proper inspection..so why shld i pay?
when they did the re-alignment back for me, the same problem of the rack wobbling happened again, so there i was repeating the routine of leaving my car there another another 2 days, at the end of it, they came to tell me is my suspension bushings spoil, paid $130 for it but when i drove it out, same problem happened again, i insisted they take it out and this time, they said that cannot because the bushings were spoiled and it could have contributed to the problem..TMD
i asked to go MG to change the rack and they said the warranty company dont allow..what cock and bull story they toking abt? they are the SAME company..they told me got different accounts so cannot...reli fed up! until today, the problem is still not solved!
from the outside , they might seem like a big company with many servicing bays and "con-sultants" to serve you..but as they simply have too many cars in a day who come to them, im sure if you are claiming warranty from them, they will ask you to leave your car overnight there as they would want to earn money from those going there to change parts and servicing..
in short, i have given up on the company and will go there to bang table again sometime towards end of the year again when im more free! sorry if my 2 cents appear like a 50 cents- inflation la... |

My guess is that company like this will try to give very good service initially so as to convince people to sign up with their warranty program.
If the first few customers can carry out some expensive repair free of charge by signing up their warranty package, they are bound to be very happy and spread the words around so more people will sign up.
Once the company make a pile already, they will try their best to avoid all repair claims whenever possible even if it means putting their reputation at stake. Anyway most people who will buy their package would have already bought by that time and they have already make a huge profit out of it.
Who knows they might someday close down their business and start another one under different name yet you won't even know its run by the same person! Wah not a bad business afterall!
Above is just my own analysis cause I really doubt this kind of business can really sustain in the long run. If not local agent would have offer this kind of warranty package themselves.
Hope I am wrong on this so more car owners are going to benefit from it. Only time will tell........... |

I do empathise ur situation. But wen i had my fuel pump prob, i went straight to MG and subsequently, MG had it replaced. Importantly, I personally felt its where you go to from the on start that matters but things may have changed since.... |

actually after getting free 2yrs warranty for my saab.. i decide against goin back to the place to service after once.. i was told to chg my pulley belt n belt tensioner for 180 + 250.. which i check from SAAB AD is oni 360 as a set. i can oni say the workshop is oni jack of all trade but master at none. therefore i will probably go back to my AD or their authorised workshop Eurohaus in future if i dun wan to void the warranty.. seriously if not for my gearbox tat can cost 12k to replace, i wont go for the warranty.. but i guess like wat u guys mentioned.. even if is a genuine fault.. they will give all excuse to rip u off b4 even thinking to replace the whole faulty item for u. Recent cases realli makes me dissapointed abt TWM.. even a few workshop i noe as telling me how tis company earn a profit from.. like to say tat there isnt realli free lunch in the world.. i guess the ones who benefit initially muz disagree to tis but dun realli blame them.. is the company who trying to use them to lure others to come. |

Guess wat u said oso made sense .....all i can say is that i'm glad Ive at least claim back almost the full value of the warranty thingy via my fuel pump replacement. Everything else in future will be a bonus to me |
