my mod list:
KS remap (believe this doesn't add power. Just went dyno with a fren. Mine only 190whp, my fren 202whp without any remap) |
did u do a "before" dyno before u do the remap? |
No. And to add on, my fren got RE header + Power chamber + super dolphin. Mine stock header + HKS. Can the RE exhaust makes so much diff??? |
well... i am on RE super dolphin, alan oso was on RE super dolphin.... The only difference between me n alan is im not on power chamber.
Bro, u nvr do a "before" dyno, u cannot like dat compare HP with ur fren mah.... horsepower testing comparison between 2 different cars definitely give u 2 different readings.... and many other factors come into play...
Urs could have a gain from 180++ to 190hp (maybe)... so far we have dyno-ed a few models of RX8 for KS n RE remaps, all of them shown HP and torque gains. The cars being tested/dynoed were remapped/done on the same day on the same dyno machine..... but of cos, the gain figures largely depend on the mods on ur car.
I hope this helps. Cheers. |

i wldnt say its the driver, more on the setup of the whole car.
I am on both mazmart water pump and lower temp thermostat.... to be very frank, it doesnt make much difference before and after installation. In fact my water temp remained the same before and after installation during track sessions. Of cos having said that, my radiator is the v-mount layout, which could explain y my water temp is on the constant, when im on track.
So if you guys ask me, i would say, its a good-to-have item, but not necessary. If you do the proper cooling setup, the waterpump and thermostat is redundant. We do have some tie-ups with Mazmart... so if u guys are interested, can bring in.
Having said that, those who are looking for RP short shifters, MG is also the dealer for the RP shifters, however due to low demand in this region, we do not bring them in anymore. However if u have difficulty shipping 1 in, u can enquire from us. We bring in on case by case basis. |

Oh I forgot, I also install Greddy Oil Pan when I upgrade the water pump. Greddy oil pan also act as another oil cooler right? (That's what other bro told me).
Forgot another, battery relocation too, last time had one small battery blocking the fan, now no more. |

no more fading. flushed brake fluid 3 times with air gun suction. My car low torque n understeer, so I ride onto the curb to make it over after apex to throttle earlier n the wheelspin makes rpm climb freely to sweet spot...just my thoughts... |

When u overdrive it, ofcoz water temp looks good when low rpm bcoz the pump turning lot more faster. But when high rev it even worse. That's why race team only UNDERDRIVE it instead of overdrive and no tuner from Japan selling such overdrive water pump pulley.
Now u have mazmart water pump, u no need to overdrive the water pump pulley as well. Mazmart said their water pump is good up to 10k rpm. So, if u overdrive, it may cavitate also. |
Yup bro, over drive the stock pump, but that is due to poor advice from someone and any way give it a try that time. And thanks for the info, now I know more
Nope, no overdrive the water pump, using back stock pulley. |
sorry, does using a greddy pulley kit means overdrive? |
No bro... The GReddy pulley kit is lightened so it can spin faster... No drag unlike the weight of the stock pulleys... so no worries.. |

Ok, thats cool.............at least now you can brake with confidence that the car dont act funny.
Generally when I ride over the kerbs, the tyre pressure spike up on the side riding the kerbs (measure that when I pit in)......dont know whether you experience the same? |
